Join us at Videology in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for Episode 9: Lost Worlds of Planet Earth! RSVP here.

Of course you devoured COSMOS: A Spacetime Odyssey: last spring, but we guarantee you’ve never seen it like this before! On Thursday, July 30th, interact with the cosmos live with the lovable, irreverent scientists & educators from Astronomy on Tap. Never content to let Neil Tyson have all the glory, we’ll share what we would have done differently, reveal behind-the-scenes secrets, and generally celebrate the fleeting appearance of real science on network TV. We’ll have music, games, very special prizes, and astro-tainment radiated by DJ Carly Sagan, MC Tycho Brew-Ha-Ha, and Brooklyn’s Friendly Neighborhood Astronomer!

This Month’s Episode: The Lost Worlds of Planet Earth

This Month’s Guest: Kara Dennis, a research assistant in the Core Repository at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, part of Columbia University. The Core Repository has one of the largest academic collections of material from the sea floor, which plays a huge role in the study of Earth’s climate history. Kara earned an M.S. degree in paleooceanography, and the main function of her job is to provide scientists with samples and data from the repository to support their research.
