Astronomy on Tap Los Angeles: October 17-19, 2016

This month we are celebrating Pasadena Astronomy Week by hosting three Astronomy on Tap events in a row with a packed lineup of great speakers!  On Monday, October 17 we will have talks by Dr. Astrid Lamberts: “Where is LIGO’s Detection?” and Dr. Ji Wang: “No More Twinkle Little Star”.  Join us Tuesday, October 18 for talks by Dr. Alex Urban: “Seeing Gravitational Wave Sources” and Dr. Eric Bellm: “Old Telescope Learns New Tricks”.  Finally on Wednesday, October 19, we will hear from Denise Schmitz: “What is Dark Matter?”, and Dr. James Ashley: “Meteorites on Other Planets”.

All of these events will last from 7:30-9:30PM and be held at Der Wolfskopf Pub in Pasadena, CA.  In addition, each will feature an astronomically-themed quiz with great space-related prizes for our winners.  Come with your science questions, as there will be many world-renowned astronomers to mingle with between talks.  In addition, Der Wolfskopf features a special Astronomy on Tap Happy Hour for discount prices on beer and food throughout the night.

These events are free and open to all ages 21+.  Doors open at 4:00PM.  For more information about our related stargazing/lecture series, see our website, and find our more about the Pasadena Astronomy Week, October 16-22.
