Astronomy on Tap ATX #43: April 17, 2018

This April, we have talks on variable stars, interstellar cigar, and dark matter! Prof. Chris Sneden will talk about RR Lyrae stars, one kind of variable stars, and how we can use it to measure the distance to star clusters; Dr. Judit Ries will take us to explore the nature of the mysterious interstellar cigar and other flying objects; and finally, one of our MC of AoTATX, Astroboz (Dr. Brandon Bozek) will discuss the nature of dark matter from his simulation of Milky Way and our neighboring galaxies.

AoTATX43 will be hosted by our Binary Host Stars, A$AP Rocky Planet (Raquel Martinez) and AstroBoz (Dr. Brandon Bozek)! In addition, AoTATX43 will feature Astronomy in the News, trivia, and AoTATX merchandise. Finally, we will have telescopes on hand to look for exciting objects in the night sky (weather permitting)! Join us for a night full of astronomy fun over pints of beer.
