AoT Santa Cruz #4 – How Do We Know What We Know? – Thursday, May 3rd, 2018 @ New Bohemia Brewing Co.

Mark your calendars!

Astronomy on Tap is back on Thursday, May 3rd at 6:30 pm at New Bohemia Brewing Co, in Santa Cruz, CA.

How Do We Know What We Know?

UCSC Professors Alexie Leauthaud and Ruth Murray-Clay and Graduate Researcher Alexa Villlaume will take you on a brief journey that will begin with the discovery of Dark Matter, which can’t be seen directly but makes up most of the mass in our universe. We will conclude with stunning pictures from the Hubble Space Telescope of “gravitational lenses” that provide modern-day proof of the existence of Dark Matter.

Our events are geared toward the general public, so please bring your curiosity, questions, and love for space. There will also be drink specials all night long as well as games, quizzes, and prizes! Astronomy on Tap is free of charge and open to anyone 21+.
