Astronomy on Tap continues on Thursday, August 2nd at 6:30 pm at New Bohemia Brewing Co, in Santa Cruz, CA.

The Milky Way and Andromeda Galaxies

Explore the formation and evolutionary history of our home galaxy, the Milky Way, and our largest galactic neighbor, the Andromeda galaxy. UCSC first-year graduate student Amanda Quirk and Prof. Raja GuhaThakurta will regale you with tales of galactic cannibalism, galaxies as chemical recycling plants, dark matter, and supermassive black holes!

Our events are geared toward the general public, so please bring your curiosity, questions, and love for space. Happy hour extends for the duration of the event, in addition to food trucks, trivia, and swag! Astronomy on Tap is free of charge and open to anyone 21+.
