AoT-Tucson #61: Strange Galaxies Near and Far @ Borderlands Brewing Co. August 21st

Tucson’s local flavor of Astronomy on Tap, #SpaceDrafts, presents its 61st edition with Raphael Hviding and Peter Senchyna:

The Furthest Galaxies in a Dark Universe – Raphael Hviding

Big Stars in Little Galaxies – Peter Senchyna

Please join University of Arizona astronomy graduate students Raphael Hviding and Peter Senchyna as they tell us about the tiniest and most distant galaxies in the Universe! Raphael specializes in the morphologies of distant galaxies, and he is currently developing new observational techniques to be utilized with the upcoming James Webb Space Telescope. Peter studies the stellar populations of dwarf galaxies, primarily with state-of-the-art telescopes such as the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) and Multiple Mirror Telescope (MMT).

The event is on August 21st, 7pm, at the Borderlands Brewing Company (119 E. Toole Ave, Tucson AZ).
