Astronomy on Tap ATX #6: April 21 at Midway Field House

As Astronomy on Tap ATX continues to grow, we’re very excited this month to be moving to a shiny new venue! This month we’ll be at Midway Field House on E Riverside with three fabulous talks:

The Hubble Space Telescope: A Personal History
In celebration of Hubble’s 25th anniversary, we have Secretary Fritz (aka Dr. Fritz Benedict) talking about his history with the most famous telescope.

Crash of the Titans!
All the way from Down Under, Astropixie (aka Dr. Amanda Bauer) will talk about the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies and their inevitable collision.

Are those really alien lighthouses? The Dawn mission and the dwarf planet Ceres
Dr. Comet (aka Dr. Adam McKay) returns to AoTATX to talk about the Dawn space probe, which is currently in orbit around the dwarf planet Ceres. Are the bright spots it’s observed from aliens on the surface? Probably not, but they’re weird and cool nonetheless.

Where?
Midway Field House, 2015 E Riverside Dr, Austin, TX 78741

When?
Tuesday April 21st, 7.30pm (trivia starts at 7pm)

As always, AoTATX is FREE and open to all ages!
