Astronomy on Tap Seattle: June 29th at Hilliard’s Beer

THIS MONTH will feature our next installment of #CosmosOnTap: a guided viewing of an episode of the original Cosmos: A Personal Voyage series with Professor Carl Sagan. We will have Cosmos trivia and bingo, and updates from the episode to fill you in on the new discoveries since the series first aired in 1980. In honor of Asteroid Day (June 30th), we will be airing episode 4: Heaven and Hell.

This month is the third month at our new home at Hilliard’s Beer! In this much larger space, we hope to continue to grow. So invite all your friends and remember to bring lawn chairs if you’d like to to make your own front-row seating! Outside food welcome.

Each FREE Astronomy on Tap event features accessible, engaging science presentations on topics ranging from planets to black holes to the beginning of the Universe. Most events have games and prizes to test and reward your new-found knowledge! There is always lots of time to ask questions and interact with the presenters and other scientists who inevitably stick around for the beer.

This is our 15th month in Seattle presented by graduate students in astronomy at the University of Washington. We’re thrilled to be hosted by Ballard’s own Hilliard’s Beer who will have a variety of beers (and plenty of astronomy) on tap.
