We will have a special Astronomy on Tap session devoted to the dawn of multi-messenger astronomy with the gravitational and electromagnetic detection of a neutron star merger discovered on October 16, 2017.
Join us at 7:30PM, Monday, October 23rd at Der Wolfskopf Pub in Pasadena, CA. We’ll hear from LIGO scientist, Dr. Jameson Rollins: “LIGO launches the age of multi-messenger astronomy” and from Hubble Space Telescope follow-up team member, Dr. Nadia Blagorodnova: “Stellar Marriages: A Turbulent Story.” In addition, we will host an astronomically-themed quiz with great space-related prizes for our winners. Come with your science questions, as there will be many world-renowned astronomers to mingle with between talks! In addition, Der Wolfskopf features a special Astronomy on Tap Happy Hour for discount prices on beer and food throughout our event.
The event is free and open to all ages 21+. Doors open at 4:00PM. For more information about our events and affiliated lecture+stargazing series, see our website.
