AoT Santa Cruz #5 – Planetary Surfaces and the Search for Extra-terrestrial life – Thursday, July 5th, 2018 @ New Bohemia Brewing Co.

We’re back!

Astronomy on Tap continues on Thursday, July 5th at 6:30 pm at New Bohemia Brewing Co, in Santa Cruz, CA.

Planetary Surfaces and the Search for Extra-terrestrial life

Join UCSC graduate student Carver Bierson and UCSC post-doctoral researcher Henriette Schwarz in a discussion about the possibility of extra-terrestrial life in Universe, and where and how we might find it. Our speakers will start close to home and take you on a tour of two of our solar system’s most promising environments to harbor life — the oceans of Europa and Enceladus — and then expand the search to more distant worlds to highlight efforts to detect life beyond our solar system.

Our events are geared toward the general public, so please bring your curiosity, questions, and love for space. There will also be drink specials all night long as well as games, quizzes, and prizes! Astronomy on Tap is free of charge and open to anyone 21+.
