https://www.facebook.com/events/2000604340229851/

Astronomy on Tap is a series of world-wide events in which professional astronomers give informal talks at a local bar on topics of broad interest in astronomy and astrophysics. Each event consists of two 10-15 min talks, followed by questions and comments. Speakers will mingle with the audience between the two talks, and there will also be a trivia session with questions related to astronomy. At the end of the night prizes will be handed to the winners!

For this evening of science, astro-trivia, prizes, and beer specials (by Urban Chestnut Brewing Company), the talks will be given by Professor Ryan Ogliore from Washington University in St. Louis and Dr. Pamela Gay from the Astronomical Society of the Pacific. The titles are as follows:

“Lithic astronomy: stardust in the lab” – Prof. Ryan Ogliore (Washington University in St. Louis)

“Asteroids: for science, mining, and the occasional extraction event” – Dr. Pamela Gay
(Astronomical Society of the Pacific)

Admission is free and all ages are welcome! UCBC has beer, soft drinks, and food for purchase. There is a parking lot on the East side of Urban Chestnut and street parking available too.
