AoT Santa Cruz #14 – – Thursday, May 2nd, 2019 @ New Bohemia Brewing Co.

Mark your calendars!

Astronomy on Tap returns on Thursday, May 2nd at 6:30 pm at New Bohemia Brewing Co, in Santa Cruz, CA.

Brown dwarfs — not quite a star, not quite a planet. UCSC graduate student will talk about how we study the atmospheres of brown dwarfs, and how they can help us better understand gas giant planets. Next we will hear from Dr. Andrew Rushby about how ice and snow may appear differently on the surface of planets orbiting around low-mass stars.

Our events are for everyone, so please bring your curiosity, questions, and love for space. Happy hour extends for the duration of the event, in addition to food trucks, trivia, and swag! Astronomy on Tap is free of charge and open to all ages
