Astronomy on Tap — Davis (November 2021; IN-PERSON)

AoT Davis is finally back with our first in-person event! Join us from 6-8pm on 18th November at Sudwerk Brewing Co.; all ages welcome! Since this event will be in-person, we require that you be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to attend, and indoor masking will be required.

We are proud to present two wonderful astronomers and speakers from the UC Davis Physics & Astronomy department, who will be introducing us to their research.

PhD candidate Keerthi Vasan GC will be talking about how we image galaxies both near and far using the largest telescopes in the world.

PhD student Patrick Wells will discuss the infamous “Hubble Tension” and how astronomers are trying to find ways to solve the mystery of cosmic expansion.

As always, there will be prizes for trivia and a raffle!
