Europa Clipper: Unveiling the Secrets of a Frozen Ocean Moon
June 25 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM CDT
Scott Bellamy
Europa Clipper Mission Manager (NASA-MSFC)
Europa Clipper is a flagship mission of the Science Mission Directorate’s Planetary Science Division and includes several instruments hosted on the spacecraft built by JPL. The mission will collect data from Jupiter’s icy ocean moon, Europa, to determine the composition and thickness of the ice covering the surface. It will also increase our knowledge and understanding of the processes occurring underneath the ice and examine the possibility of supporting microbial life in Europa’s liquid ocean.
