SUMMARY:Astronomy on Tap Great Basin: Black Holes & Alien Worlds
DESCRIPTION:Join us at 7:30PM PDT\, Saturday\, September 12th for a very special Astronomy on Tap in Baker\, NV as part of the Great Basin National Park Astronomy Festival! We’ll hear from Caltech postdoctoral fellow Demet Kirmizibayrak discussing: “Black Holes and Delayed Encores” and Caltech PhD student Tim Proudkii to talk about: “How Jupiter’s Moons Became Alien Worlds.”  In addition\, we will have telescopes on-hand for guided stargazing\, professional astronomers to answer your science questions\, and astronomically-themed pub trivia with prizes! \nThese events are being hosted by the crew from Astronomy on Tap Los Angeles\, as part of the Great Basin Astronomy Festival\, a weekend of astronomy and space science out in one of the darkest skies in the United States. \nThe event is free and open to all ages.  No reservations are necessary\, just show up and stay only as long as you want. To view our past events\, see our location page.  For more information about our future events and affiliated Stargazing Lecture Series at Caltech\, see our website.
