May 27, 2023 @ 6:30 PM - 10:30 PM CEST

Just in time for summer finally arriving in Denmark, we are taking a plunge in the cold molecular clouds to learn more about the formation of complex molecules. But we will also take out our sunglasses to have a look at gamma-ray burst which are some of the most luminous events in the Universe since the Big Bang. So join at this months edition of Astronomy on Tap!
Our speakers are:
Jes Jørgensen: He will tell us about the he and others are trying to nail down how complex molecules are formed in the could regions where young stars and planets form.
Aprajita Hajela: Gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) are extraordinary cosmic spectacles that release staggering amounts of energy. They provide a captivating glimpse into the formation of black holes, or neutron stars. While most GRBs occur in the far reaches of the Universe, we’ll delve into a remarkable event that unfolded tantalizingly close, just a “mere” 1000 billion billion kilometers (not a typo) away from us.
