Astronomy on Tap Flagstaff | Fantastic Worlds and How to Find Them

October 19 @ 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM MST

Free

Join Lowell Observatory and Arizona Snowbowl for our final collaborative Astronomy on Tap Flagstaff event of the year! We’re holding this last special event at Basecamp, right off Route 180 at the base of N Snow Bowl Rd., where you can enjoy food and drink while watching fascinating science talks. Be sure to stick around for trivia, where you’ll have a chance to win incredible Lowell Observatory and Snowbowl prizes!

This month’s speaker is Lowell astronomer Dr. Alex Polanski, who will talk about how astronomers discover planets around other stars and search for exoplanets like Earth! How did we go from knowing about 8 planets in the entire universe to over 5,000 other worlds in just a couple decades? Learn how astronomers working at the cutting edge of technology have been able to discover the dizzying array of planets around other stars and how we might find other planets like our own. We’ll see you there!
