Astronomy on Tap Cradle of Astronauts: Summer Space Spectacular

June 6, 2023 @ 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM EDT

Astronomy on Tap is a series of events aimed at bringing astronomy and space science to the public, with informal talks by professional scientists, trivia, and beer!

This month we have two exciting speakers to kick off the summer!
Dr. Andrea Rajšić is a postdoctoral scholar at Purdue who aims to understand the rock weakening processes during crater formation on the Moon and Earth, using numerical modeling techniques. She will be talking to us tonight about the surprising results from NASA’s InSight mission, and what we can learn by studying Earthquakes, Moonquakes, and Marsquakes.

Jonathan Wood is a PhD student in the department of Physics and Astronomy at Purdue, and his studies focus on cosmology and the makeup of our universe. Jonathan is very involved in physics outreach, and is the host of the Youtube Channel “Heroic Science”.
