Astro on Tap Philly

October 19, 2023 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM EDT

The image is a flyer for our event this month. The background image is a stock image of a rendering of a black hole with orange light bending around it. In the top left of the image, there is large yellow text that says "Black Holes Made of Light?" with smaller yellow text directly underneath that says "Professor Ravi Sheth, University of Pennsylvania". In the bottom right corner of the flyer, there is large yellow text that says "Galaxy Clusters: Tracers of the Universe's History" with smaller yellow text directly underneath that says "Manon Ramel, University of Grenoble-Alpes". Directly above this text is the Astro on Tap Philly logo, which is a blue oval line, with the liberty bell in the middle. Above the liberty bell, there is stylized text that says "Astronomy" where all of the letters are blue except for the "on," which is red. Directly below this word is the word "tap" stylized in red with the same font as the red letters in "astronomy." In the top right corner, there is dark brown text that says "Thursday, Oct. 19 6-8pm, Fergie's Pub 2nd floor, 1214 Sansom St." In the bottom left of the flyer, our social media handle is in yellow font, above the logos of the various social media sites, including instagram, facebook, and X (formerly Twitter). Directly to the right of the logos is a QR code, with yellow text on the right that says "Join our mailing list!" with an arrow pointing to the QR code.

Astro on Tap Philly is back next Thursday, October 19th! This month’s speakers will be Manon Ramel, a visiting PhD student from the University of Grenoble-Alpes in France, who will be talking to us about Galaxy Clusters, as well as Penn’s very own Professor Ravi Sheth, who will be talking about Black Holes.
