FreeGet excited for Astronomy on Tap at Bickerson’s Brewhouse in Ballard at 7pm!
This month we are featuring two AMAZING Graduate Students from UW to chat about their fields of cosmology!
Each FREE Astronomy on Tap event features accessible, engaging science presentations on topics ranging from planets to black holes to the beginning of the Universe. Most events have games and prizes to test and reward your new-found knowledge! There is always lots of time to ask questions and interact with the presenters and other scientists who inevitably stick around for the beer.

John Franklin Crenshaw is a 5th year Physics PhD student at UW. He works on cosmology and galaxy evolution with the Vera Rubin Observatory, and is particularly interested in constraining fundamental physics using the large scale structure of the universe. Outside of work, he loves alpine climbing, backcountry skiing, and seeing movies at SIFF.
Hurum Maksora Tohfa is a first year astronomy PhD student at UW. Her research focuses on large scale structures and developing novel numerical techniques for better analyzing cosmological data. Outside of work, she likes painting and hiking.
