Speaker: Dr. Rick Perley
Bio: I obtained my PhD from University of Maryland in 1977, with a thesis on very low frequency interferometric imaging. I was a postdoc at NRAO (Socorro) from 1977 to 1980, after which I was promoted to staff scientist. I was involved in the early imaging developments with the VLA through the 1970s and 1980s. In the 2000s I was the VLA Expansion Project Scientist, helping with the vast increase in capabilities that this project brought. Since the completion of this project in 2012, I’ve been working on improving imaging and polarimetry with the array, as well as utilizing it for science.
