First speaker begins at 7 PM

Last month, LSU and the East Baton Rouge Parish Library cohosted Sounds of Science, a “transdisciplinary celebration of the creation of the universe.” At the center of this event was a performance of Makrológos—a musical interpretation of the evolution of the universe and of life on Earth—composed by David Walters, an international award-winning composer and a current Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at LSU.

This month’s edition of Astronomy on Tap-Baton Rouge will feature a panel on the inspiration and creation of Makrológos, followed by a talk on the physics and astronomy behind the music.

Flyer for astronomy on tap Baton Rouge at the Varsity Theatre on April 17 at 7pm. The event will also be live streaming on our YouTube Channel at youtube.com/c/AOTBR.
