Free

Welcome to the greatest science talks in Baton Rouge! Come check out the fantastic speakers that have come to give us great talks from the comfort of your own home!

Dr. Dan Sheehy

Graphene: Space Age Material for Future Technology

I will describe graphene, a recently discovered material that is a one-atom thick sheet of carbon. Its thinness and strength mean it can be the foundation of future technologies in such fields as medicine, energy, and astronomy (among many others).

Dr. Tabby Boyajian

Cats in Space!

You’ve all heard about Laika, the first dog to enter outer space, but nobody ever talks about cats in space! Back in 1963 the French Space Program sent the first cat, Félicette, into space with electrodes implanted onto her skull.
