Astronomy on Tap BCS #47

May 25 @ 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM EDT

Free
Join us at the Grand Stafford Theater for the 47th installation of Astronomy on Tap BCS! We’ll have talks by Dr. Justin Spilker (“Zooming in on the Event Horizon: Taking Pictures of Black Holes”) and Taylor Hutchison (“Peering through the Cosmic Fog: Unveiling the Mysteries of the Early Universe”). We will also have the usual assortment of trivia, Astronomy in the News by Alexander Riley, and What’s Up by Yaswant Devarakonda. The event will also be live-streamed on YouTube at tx.ag/aotlive. As always, AoT BCS is FREE and open to all ages. Come listen to astronomers share the wonders of the Universe.
Speaker Bios:
Justin is a new professor of astronomy at Texas A&M as of January 2022. Before that he was a postdoc at UT-Austin (boo, hiss), got his PhD at the University of Arizona, and his undergrad degree at Iowa State University. Justin grew up in Nebraska, spending summers working on his grandpa’s Christmas tree farm (they don’t just grow that way) and these days can be found biking around BCS for fun and transportation.
