Astronomy on Tap Cardiff Christmas Special!

We are celebrating the festive season with an extended edition of Astronomy on Tap! We’ll be having three amazing talks from Cardiff University staff and alumni.

Christmas day this year marks the 2nd anniversary of the James Webb Space Telescope launch and the amazing discoveries it’s made in that time. To celebrate, Dr Roger Wesson will be taking us on a tour of the most amazing discoveries JWST has made. Have you ever wondered “What’s Christmas time like on Neptune?” Well Jacob Elford will be answering that by taking a look at what Christmas is like on the other planets in our solar system. Finally, if you yourself want to do some stargazing over the festive period, Dr Jennifer Millard will be discussing what the night sky holds for us over the holiday period and what to look out for in the new year.

This event will have an extended version of our quiz still with a bunch of prizes on offer for the top three teams! We also want to know what interests you about space so feel free to talk to any of the committee members at the event during the breaks to discuss all things space related!
