Astronomy on Tap Cardiff: The Invisible Universe

Astronomy on Tap is coming to Cardiff! Join us on the run up to the National Astronomy Meeting (NAM) for four nights throughout June with astro-activities and talks from academics at Cardiff University.

Our final event on the run up to NAM will be delving deep into the invisible universe, looking at the types of light we can’t see with our own eyes. Dr Matthew Smith is guiding us through the many wavelengths of light astronomers utilise to observe galaxies and understand what they’re made of. Alongside him is Gayathri Eknath, taking a look at our closest galactic neighbour, Andromeda. Uncovering the secrets behind its dust lanes and what the future may hold for it.
