Astronomy on Tap Grand Canyon: Volcanoes and Oumuamua

November 3, 2023 @ 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM MST

Join us at 8:00PM AZT, Friday, November 3rd for Astronomy on Tap at Grand Canyon National Park! We will be at the historic Phantom Ranch Canteen down at the Colorado River deep in the Grand Canyon.  We’ll hear from Caltech Professor Dr. Katherine de Kleer: “The Solar System’s Volcanic Wonderland,” and Arizona State University’s Dr. Steve Desch: “1I/’Oumuamua: The Nearest Exoplanet?”  In addition, we will have a telescope on-hand for guided stargazing, professional astronomers to answer your science questions, and astronomically-themed pub trivia with prizes!

These events are being hosted by the crew from Astronomy on Tap, Los Angeles.  Dr. Cameron Hummels, the host from Astronomy on Tap, Los Angeles, is the Astronomer in Residence at the Grand Canyon this fall, so he is producing some Astronomy on Tap events in the Grand Canyon this season.

The event is free and open to all ages.  No reservations are necessary, just show up and stay only as long as you want. To view our past events, see our location page.
