Summary: “Starlink, Oneweb, Guo Wang and Project Kuiper promise affordable and fast internet at any point of the globe. In fact Starlink is currently one of the only reliable sources of free internet in the eastern Ukraine. However, the systems with ten thousands of satellites provide a serious threat to other space applications, have a huge environmental impact and pollute the night sky with numerous tracks of artificial stars. Are they the end of ground-based astronomy?”
