February 28 @ 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM PST

RESCHEDULED TO WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 28th @ 7:30PM!

Join us at 7:30PM PST, Wednesday, February 28th for Astronomy on Tap at the outdoor Dog Haus Biergarten in Old Town Pasadena. We’ll hear from author, cartoonist, and space advocate Zach Weinersmith promoting his new book regarding the science and ethics of space settlements: “A City on Mars: Can We Settle Space, Should We Settle Space, and Have We Really Thought This Through?” as well as Caltech PhD candidate Maria Camarca describing the various planetary surface compositions in our Solar System: “The Many Fabrics of Our Solar System: Texture, Color, and Meaning.”  In addition, we will have a telescope on-hand for guided stargazing, live music by Jason Achilles and Forrest Mitchell, professional astronomers to answer your science questions, and astronomically-themed pub trivia with prizes!  Zach’s book: “A City on Mars” will be available for purchase and author signing.

The event is free and open to all ages.  No reservations are necessary, just show up and stay only as long as you want. To view our past events, see our location page.  For more information about our future events and affiliated Stargazing Lecture Series at Caltech, see our website.
