Astronomy on Tap NYC #142: Turning it Up To 11!
May 21 @ 6:45 PM - 8:15 PM EDT
FreeJoin us for the 142nd Astronomy on Tap NYC event, and the next in our monthly series at Pete’s Candy Store! Astronomy on Tap is fun and informative, with professional scientists and educators, plus games, prizes, and a bit of learning while drinking.
We are officially 11 years old! Astronomy on Tap started in NYC in April 2013, so what better way to celebrate than turning it up to 11! Let’s get loud! Like that silence in space that is totally loud. Our deafening speakers for this raucous reception are:
•Prof. K.E. Saavik Ford (she/her), CUNY BMCC/AMNH Astro, speaking about the loudest collisions in the universe!
•Keiji Hammond, AMNH Division of Physical Sciences, who will inform us about the biggest volcanic eruptions ever!
Doors open at 6:45pm, event start at 7pm SHARP. Arrive early to get your seats, grab a drink, and settle in for science talks, trivia, prizes, and fun!
