Astronomy on Tap – Orlando Event #28: The Hidden Hazards of Spaceflight and Ice Giant Rings!

Greetings, Space Nerds! We’re back for our AoT Orlando Event #28! 🤯🚀
Come join us at the Ivanhoe Park Lager House on Thursday, February 26th, from 7 – 9 PM for another out-of-this-world event! Dr. Melanie Coathup, a Professor and Director of the Biionix Cluster at the University of Central Florida’s College of Medicine, will start us off on the fascinating world of astronaut bone health and the cutting-edge ways doctors work to protect astronauts from the effects of radiation and microgravity. Then, Elizabeth Faulkner, a graduate student in the Physics department, will bring us to the rings of the outer solar system, exploring how interior seismic activity can shape the structure of the rings we observe. Come learn how we keep our bones strong, even beyond Earth, and how the rings of Uranus and Neptune might give clues to their planet’s interiors! This is an AoT that you DON’T wanna miss!! ☄️

As always, we will finish off the night with 2 rounds of our space trivia, where you will have the chance to win some fun astronomy-themed prizes!
