We’ve heard a lot about ~one night only~ phenomena this year: comet approaches, meteor shower peaks, lunar eclipses, and the occasional online sale… But what about flashes and fly-bys in deep space? With next-generation telescopes both on Earth and in orbit, we are closer than ever to understanding the extremes of the universe — and to catching limited-edition physics in action. At DEEP DISHES – WEIRD TELESCOPES AND HOW THEY WORK, we’ll hear from local astronomers Dr. Aisling Murphy and Dr. Bovornpratch Vijarnwannaluk about strange telescope designs and what we’ve discovered about the universe in 2025. And as usual, we’ll be hosting several rounds of science trivia, with prizes for the winners, and hearing about the latest news from space. See you there!
