Astronomy on Tap Tucson #99: All About the Early Universe
September 17 @ 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM MST
Tucson’s local flavor of Astronomy on Tap, Space Drafts, presents its 99th edition! On tap this month, we have Steward astronomers Dr. Kevin Hainline and Joe Adamo talking about the early universe, and you won’t want to miss four months’ worth of Astronomy in the News with Dr. Danny Krolikowski!
JADES-GS-z14-0: Updates from the Beginning of Time – Kevin Hainline
&
Cosmic Inflation: What is it, and does it fix the Big Bang? – Joe Adamo
This month, we’ll be joined by Steward research professor Kevin Hainline giving us the inside scoop on the earliest galaxy known to exist, and Steward grad student Joe Adamo will go back to the time before galaxies even existed to tell us about cosmic inflation. And Steward postdoc Danny Krolikowski will be telling us all about the latest and greatest astronomical news!
We’ll be out on the patio of the Toole location of Borderlands Brewing Company (119 E. Toole Ave, Tucson AZ, accessible via stairs and a ramp) at 7:30pm MST on September 17. There is street parking near the venue, and several bus lines run to the Toole/7th Ave. bus stop right next door. If you’re feeling up for a bit of walking, the Sun Link street car runs to Congress/6th Ave (if going westbound) or SL/Broadway/Church (if going eastbound), about half a mile away from Borderlands. And you can also join us online at bit.ly/SpaceDrafts99 if you can’t make it in person!
