Our Galaxy is surrounded by many smaller dwarf galaxies, which often fall in towards the Milky Way and get stretched out, torn apart, and ultimately consumed by our Galaxy. Understanding these dwarf galaxy “fossils” using “Galactic Archeology” helps us learn about the history of our Galaxy and the early.
