The Nightmare Before Launch: An Evening Full of Stars, Scares, and Spirits!
October 13 @ 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM EDT
It was a dark and story night. Amidst the ceaseless noise you hear a loud thump. You turn around… Another thump. This time, to your left… Thump… Above you! In the darkness of space, these thumps can come suddenly from any direction. They are distant stellar explosions called supernovae. One such explosion in the constellation Cassiopeia was recorded by humans around 1680, and was the recent subject of a rocket launch led by Northwestern University. Come learn more about this brief Wrinkle in [Space-]Time as Astronomy on Tap returns to Begyle Brewing on October 13th! Northwestern astronomers will be ready to answer your space questions, and they’ll have some questions for you too! Trivia with prizes!
It’s spooky season, so we would love to see you dressed as your favorite planet, spacecraft, or Star Trek/Wars character!
