Edinburgh, UK

Did you know that Edinburgh is home to the world-leading UK Astronomy Technology Centre? Or that Scotland played a large role in the first detection of gravitational waves?

Come along to AoT EDI to learn more about what is happening right here in Scotland’s historic capital, and beyond.

When: Every second Tuesday of the month (roughly)

Where: The Outhouse, 12A Broughton Street Lane EH1 3LY

Each free event consists of three fun, engaging presentations on astronomical topics – from how stars are born, to the science of science fiction, to Scotland’s role in the space sector… Anything goes!

The talks are pitched at a level suitable for non-scientists, with the aim of sharing with the public the incredible science happening on their very doorstep.

During the night, we also have fun (yet educational!) games to test and reward your new-found knowledge, with cool space-themed goodies always available to take home. There is always lots of time to ask questions and interact with the presenters and other scientists who inevitably tag along for the beer.
