Space Drafts 26: JWST Special at AoT-Tucson, July 6th at the Borderlands Brewing Co.

This month, #SpaceDrafts (Tucson’s local flavor of Astronomy on Tap), we will have two excellent early-career scientists whose blood, sweat and tears have gone into our next-generation space telescope:

Drs. Stacey Alberts and Jonathan Fraine (Steward Observatory)
To Boldly Look Where No One Has Looked Before: The Science of James Webb Space Telescope

JWST is a massive endeavor and scientists at the University of Arizona have played a key role in creating the instrument suite.
Come hear from Stacey and Jonathan who have been directly and extensively involved in the testing program.
Learn about the big, shiny, new space telescope, how they survived snowpocalypse, and what new science they are going to be doing with it from galaxies to exoplanets and beyond!

As always, we’ll have telescopes setup outside if it’s clear, and there will be hot pizza and cold beer. July 6th, 7pm at Borderlands Brewing Company! RSVP!
