Join AoT-Louisville on Wed 5 Sep, 2018 as Chris Graney of Jefferson Community & Technical College discusses how Johann Georg Locher and Christoph Scheiner proposed to make Earth orbit the Sun in 1614, using a continuous falling action — decades before Isaac Newton worked it out completely in his Principia masterpiece. This was also despite Locher and Scheiner being geocentrists who were convinced that Earth in fact did not orbit the sun. Their ideas were shot down by colleagues who seem to have not grasped the details of their argument.
