AoT Köln: Online Event #5, 5 November 2020

Join us on YouTube for our fifth event where we will learn all about stars from Dr. Dorottya Szécsi!! Dr. Szécsi is an Assistant Professor at Nicolaus Copernicus University and a Humboldt Research Fellow at the Universität zu Köln.

Summary:

Have you ever wondered how big stars are? The Sun is bigger than the Earth, sure. But are all stars as big as the Sun? Are there some stars even bigger than that?

How does an astronomer work? How exactly do we measure the size of a star — after all, aren’t almost all stars only small white dots even when we look through a telescope?

If you ever wondered about these questions, or want to know more about the mysteries of the Universe out there, this talk is for you.
