On the 3rd Thursday every month, learn about the latest in our Universe at Astronomy on Tap, Champaign-Urbana.
Join us live on Youtube (https://youtu.be/h0dpbdeCFRc) Thurs. Nov. 19, 6 PM CT for this month’s Astronomy on Tap CU!
Stuck at home because of the pandemic, many people are rediscovering the night sky. At the same time, advances in technology have brought down the cost and difficulty of photographing astronomical objects. In this talk, Prof. Ricker will discuss some of the basics of astrophotography and show you how to capture “faint fuzzies” of your own.
Paul Ricker has been an astronomy professor at the University of Illinois since 2002. He is a computational astrophysicist whose research work involves building computer simulations of interacting binary stars and galaxy clusters.
Grab a drink, bring your friends and family, and let’s have some fun while we learn! We hope to see you there!
