Astronomy on Tap Triangle #25: Tuesday, February 2, 2021

Come check out Astronomy on Tap Triangle, our North Carolina chapter of short and engaging talks about astronomy over beer, held virtually on YouTube — this is our twenty-fifth event held from 7-9 PM on Tuesday, February 2nd!

Join us live on YouTube to peer through the gravitational looking glass! This time, we’ll hear about cosmology and gravity from Dr. Michael Troxel, Assistant Professor of Physics at Duke University, in his talk titled “Seeing the Invisible Through Gravitational Lensing.”

Dr. Michael Troxel is an Assistant Professor of Physics at Duke University where he works on cosmology using results from the Dark Energy Survey. He received his MS and PhD from the University of Texas at Dallas, and his BS from the University of Oklahoma.

Our FREE Astronomy on Tap events feature accessible, engaging science presentations on topics ranging from planets to black holes to the beginning of the Universe. There is always lots of time to ask questions and interact with the presenters and other scientists who inevitably stick around for the beer.
