Birds in Space: A Story of Flight and Navigation

Anna will discuss how birds navigate using cues from space, and how they respond to “space events” like solar eclipses.  Other topics will include the intersection of birds and humans in space, and how close birds get to space during migration.

 

Auroras: On Earth and Elsewhere

Dr. Courtney Crawford

Aurorae are mesmerizing, dynamical light shows that can appear in a variety of colors.  Courtney will be talking about what aurorae are, how they work, what we can learn from them, and other planets where they can be found.
