Astronomy on Tap Cardiff: Fact or Fiction
June 22 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM BST
Free
Astronomy on Tap is coming to Cardiff! Join us on the run up to the National Astronomy Meeting (NAM) for four nights throughout June with astro-activities and talks from academics at Cardiff University.
Our third event is looking at the impact that popular culture has had on science and the difference between science fact and fiction. Dr Vivien Raymond will be keeping us gravitationally bound to our seats with his talk on black holes and gravitational waves as well as discussing how we observe these strange space-time phenomenon Joining Dr Raymond will be Luke Booth, discussing the ways in which popular culture has impacted science. From Star Wars to Interstellar, he’ll be exploring the symbiosis between science fiction and science fact.
What’s more, there will be a quiz midway through! We look forward to seeing you all there!
