Astronomy on Tap Copenhagen – Black Holes
October 14 @ 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM CEST

A body so massive that not even light can escape. What else could be meant by that than a black hole? At first many scientists – including Einstein – thought that it should be impossible to form such a body. But in science the impossible i sometimes the reality and since 2019 we even have a picture of the black hole in the center of the galaxy Messier 87.
This edition of Astronomy on Tap Copenhagen is dedicated to the fascinating science of Black Holes. Our first speaker Jose M. Ezquiaga will talk about stellar mass black holes while Vitor Cardoso will tell us something about how we study supermassive black holes.
