Astronomy on Tap in the Triangle: Inside the Life of a Star

Come check out Astronomy on Tap Triangle, our North Carolina chapter of short and engaging talks about astronomy over beer. Find us in the taproom of Fullsteam Brewery in Durham, NC from 7-9 PM on Wednesday, November 1st!

Have you ever looked up at the night sky and wondered what goes on behind all those twinkling dots? Did you know that the stars have their own lives, relationships, and even societies? As a matter of fact, there are many surprising similarities between the lives of humans and stars. Drawing on these similarities, Dr. Poojan Agrawal (UNC-CH) will tell us about her research on massive stars and the fascinating role they play in shaping our universe.

Don’t forget to get there on time for a quick round of astronomy trivia and special prizes! We’ll also have some (earth-based) telescopes out front for you to check out if the weather cooperates.
