Come check out Astronomy on Tap Triangle, our North Carolina chapter of short and engaging talks about astronomy over beer. Find us in the taproom of Fullsteam Brewery in Durham, NC from 7-8:30 PM on Wednesday, May 1st!
Let’s embark on a cosmic journey through the science of Star Wars over a pint of beer at Fullsteam Brewery! Join us for an evening of wonder and exploration as we explore the possibility of lightsabers, Tatooine-like planets, and navigating asteroid fields. From the speed of the Millennium Falcon to the creation of robots like R2-D2 and C-3PO, let your imagination soar as we delve into the realms of science fiction and reality. With a little help from the Force, Dr. Thanassis Psaltis (Duke) will guide us on this investigation into the science of Star Wars.
Don’t forget to get there on time for a quick round of astronomy trivia and special prizes! We’ll also hopefully have some (earth-based) telescopes out front for you to check out if the weather cooperates.
There is always lots of time to ask questions and interact with the presenters and other scientists who inevitably stick around for the beer. We can’t wait to see you there!
