Astronomy on Tap Tucson #87: Telescope Love Letters + Satellite Swarms
May 16 @ 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM MST
To all the telescopes I’ve loved before… – Eden McEwen
A Sky Full of Satellites – Harry Krantz
On tap this month, we have optical sciences graduate student Eden McEwen telling us all about the life of an observational astronomer, and Steward Observatory’s Harry Krantz talking about satellites in the night sky! We’ll also be hearing all about the latest Astronomy in the News from Drs. Jackie Champagne and Danny Krolikowski, so please join us to learn about the latest and greatest in the astronomical world.
We’ll be out on the patio of Borderlands Brewing Company (119 E. Toole Ave, Tucson AZ, accessible via stairs and a ramp) at 7:30pm Arizona time on May 16. There is street parking near the venue, and several bus lines run to the Toole/7th Ave. bus stop right next door. If you’re feeling up for a bit of walking, the Sun Link street car runs to Congress/6th Ave (if going westbound) or SL/Broadway/Church (if going eastbound), about half a mile away from Borderlands. However, if you can’t make it in person, you can also join us online at bit.ly/SpaceDrafts87!
