AoTNYC – May the 4th-Squared Be With You
May 16 @ 7:00 PM - 8:15 PM EDT
Astronomy on Tap NYC #124 – bringing astronomers to the bar for over 10 years! Arrive early to Pete’s Candy Store (~6:45pm) in Williamsburg to grab your seats, grab a drink, and settle in for science talks, games, prizes, and fun!
So… what do you call a drunk angle? A wrecked-angle, of course!! This month it’s a brooooad look at the Universe! What does it know? Does it know things? Let’s find out! And what shapes is it?? We’ve got two cosmologists, and a square-based (…get it? May 4^2? May the 4th SQUARED? (…May 16th??)) trivia game for awesome prizes!
Joining us will be:
•Will Coulton (he/him) is an observational cosmologist at the Flatiron Institute in Manhattan, and will be speaking about “The Shape of the You-niverse.”
•Marcell R Howard is a theoretical cosmologist and a grad student at the University of Pittsburgh where he has given an Astronomy on Tap talk before!
Plus your hosts, MC Annie Drunk Cannon, MC Schrödinger’s Goblin, and our newest host Melize Ferrus!
There are no wrong answers, only right… angles at Astronomy on Tap! Make it a point to come on ‘round to our square event!
