Simons Observatory: A search for the beginning of the universe

July 23 @ 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM CDT

The Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) is the oldest light in the universe, and it holds many keys to understanding the beginning and evolution of the cosmos. The Simons Observatory (SO) is a new suite of telescopes that promises to make more sensitive measurements of the CMB than any other telescopes to date. This AoT will be a special event in which we partner with the scientists from SO who have descended on Chicago for their annual collaboration meeting. Come learn about the CMB and the telescopes that can measure it!
