Dr. Adam Goldstein (Universities Space Research Association)
The Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope was launched on June 11, 2008 and has revolutionized our understanding of the high-energy universe. Through 15 years of observations, Fermi has mapped the entire sky in gamma-rays, has continually monitored for cataclysmic explosions from the dawn of time, and has even rewritten textbooks with new discoveries in fundamental physics. I will review the Fermi mission, some of its key discoveries, and the prospects for its future and future successors.
